“Abstract Landscapes” Series
To start, I laid the canvas on the floor and poured paint on it, letting it splatter, pool, harden, and crack. Recycling materials from my own studio is another aspect of my work. I used in this case I used glass beads, scraps of drawing paper, and chunks of paint, pressing them into holes or gluing them on top. The result: topographical layers of painting events which remind me of maps about population density. This is a landscape of color and texture: let your eyes get lost in the details. If you look carefully, you will discover whimsical moments, like the hand in the upper right corner.
